Pandey Motion Pictures helmed by Mukesh Pandey announced the lead cast of their new film ‘Shikarr’.
‘Shikarr’ is a social thriller set in the backdrop of rural Bengal. It will see a stellar cast of Superstars Yash and Rituparna Sengupta in pivotal roles. This is the first time the duo will share the screenspace together. Both the actors who are busy working in different projects in Mumbai are excited to be back in their home ground for an exciting collaboration.
Set in the backdrop of rural Bengal, the film is set in a place called Shantipur whose local messiah/ hero is ‘Dev’ (essayed by Yash) a flamboyant character who rides around town helping young and old. The people of Shantipur worship him like a true hero and women are crazy about him. ‘Agni’ a single mother (essayed by Rituparna Sengupta) is posted as a government official in the town who soon gets embroiled in a controversy that makes her come face to face with ‘Dev’. What happens next forms the crux of the story.
Also seen in a significant role will be MP and actor Nussrat Jahan who will be seen playing the character of ‘Jinia’. ‘Jinia’ will add the spunk and relief to the serious thriller plot.
The lead trio Yash , Rituparna and Nussrat were present at a city star Hotel to announce their collaboration and flag off the journey of Shikarr along with the director and lead crew of the film.
As a surprise element in the film, a fourth character will be there who will be pivotal to the story. The makers have decided to unravel that detail later towards the release.
The film will be directed by Kolkata and Mumbai based director Debraj Sinha. Debraj Sinha has previously directed Rituparna Sengupta in the box office hit ‘Akkarshan’ and has worked with the likes of Jackie Shroff and Locket Chatterjee in ‘Love in Rajasthan’ and with Sabyasachi Chakraborty in ‘Raktomukhi Neela’.
The music and Background Score of the film will be helmed by Aditi Bose . Camera will be headed by Sudipta Majumder of ‘Vinci Da’ fame Film will be edited by Sayantan Nag. ‘Shikarr’ will also see a lot of action sequences and therefore fight master Rajesh Kannan will be present from Chennai to supervise all the heavy duty action.
‘Shikarr’ promises a full on masala commercial Bengali cinema that the audience would love to see in the theatres with their families.The film is planned to go on floors end of March 2023
