By Special Correspondent

A I Razu is a versatile playback singer and solo artist of Bangladesh. He has managed to captivate music lovers with his versatility over the years. Be it folk, Bangla rock, or Hindi songs, he has managed to leave a mark multiple times with his melancholic voice.

His pursuit of music began at a tender age. The singer won the Notun Kuri Tv Award (2005) in folk and patriotic song categories at an age of 9. He further enhanced himself under the tutelage of Ustad Sanjib Dey. Focusing on classical and folk genres, Razu went on to pursue a diploma in music from the Bulbul Academy of Fine Arts (BAFA). A I Razu won the second position in the famed music competition Power Voice 2012, the biggest reality show in Bangladesh. This elevated his popularity to new heights.

The singer debuted in the Bangladeshi playback industry with the title song “Char Okhorer Bhalobasha” in 2013. Emon Shaha was the music director of the film.
He later voiced the track “Janina Kokhon” in Munsur Ali’s “Shongram” (2013). The song was a duet, featuring noted singer Kona alongside him. His song “Eki Maya” from the film “Desha: The Leader” (2015) strikes a chord with the audience on gloomy romantic nights even today.

A I Razu participated in Bangladesh Youth Delegation to India – 2016 as a delegate. He travelled and performed in four different Indian states during the tour. He also does stage concerts/gigs all over Bangladesh.

The singer released his first own song in 2014 named “Talaash” , the song composed by the famous music composer from Bangladesh Manam Ahmad. This year he released a romantic number, “Durotto” on Valentine’s Day for his listeners. The song “Durotto” is written and composed by the singer himself. On the other hand, “BidayBolona” was released this September. It is composed by Bappa Mazumder, a famous singer and composer in Bangladesh.

A i Razu says this year, “24thDecember I am releasing my song ‘Shobdohin Shobdo’, The song is written and composed by living legend Tapas Bapi Das from the band Moheener Ghoraguli. Bapi Da says “ I was amazed by Razu’s voice. One day when we were in a ghoroa Adda Razu asked me to write a romantic song for him. I have never written a romantic lyric as it is not my forte but I couldn’t say no to the talented singer.” they are very hopeful with the song.
The music of this song is arranged by Bappa Mazumder. Indian film-maker Samik Roy Choudhury has directed the music video for this number. Samik has given a beautiful storyline to the song and blended with the current situation of the country. City dazzle Anshu Bach and Patrali Hazra has lead as actors in the music video.

He is also working with the famed composer and singer Rupam Islam on a soft-rock track. The composition is dedicated to a social cause and it will release early next year.

Razu says he is hoping to work with many more composers in India and we will be getting more songs from him next year. We wish him good luck and want more new tracks from this versatile singer.
“Music is my soul and I have always seen it as a prayer rather than a profession. I hope to live up to my dreams with my work,” he concludes.
