Koushani Mukherjee will make a special guest appearance as Chandramukhi, one of the most enduring and emotionally complex characters from Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s literary universe.
Her appearance in the film brings a character deeply embedded in the cultural and literary memory of Bengal into Srijit Mukherji’s ambitious cinematic world. While Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra explores the larger legacy of Sarat Chandra and the turbulent socio-political period surrounding his literary journey, Koushani’s portrayal of Chandramukhi adds a distinct emotional and literary dimension to the narrative.

Produced by Pradip Kumar Nandy under the banner of Nandy Movies, Emperor Vs Sarat Chandra stars Abir Chatterjee, Tota Roy Choudhury, Mimi Chakraborty, Divyani Mondal, Rik Chatterjee, Debopriyo Mukherjee, Sanjay Nag and Kanchan Mullick, alongside Koushani Mukherjee in her special appearance as Chandramukhi.
The film is directed by Srijit Mukherji, who also makes his debut as the music composer. Indranath Marick is the cinematographer, Indraadip Dasgupta has composed the background score, while Somnath Kundu is responsible for the film’s makeup, playing a particularly important role in creating the period and literary identities of the characters.
