On 20th September 2025, the Netaji Indoor Stadium turned into the grand stage of Bengal’s biggest cinematic celebration. In front of a packed house, Megastar Dev’s 20
glorious years were honoured with unmatched splendour, culminating in the unveiling of the trailer of Raghu Dakat, the Puja spectacle directed by Dhrubo Banerjee. In a gesture that reflected Dev’s humility and gratitude, the entire proceeds from the ticketed
event were donated to the Technicians’ Welfare Fund, paying tribute to the backbone of the industry that has shaped his career.
The evening began with a dazzling laser show, DJ set, and Kabuki AV, igniting the stadium with imagery of rebellion and courage. Singers Nilayan Chatterjee and Rathijit
Bhattacharjee then recreated the milestones of Dev’s two-decade journey in a stirring musical tribute. The atmosphere turned emotional when Prosenjit Chatterjee, the
eternal icon of Bengali cinema, took the stage to hail Dev’s achievements and welcome Raghu Dakat as the beginning of a new cinematic chapter.
The flow of the evening remained seamless. Nilayan, Rathijit, Shreya, Shuchismita, and Ishan performed a Raghu Dakat musical, while Viki, as anchor, portrayed Dev’s cult
characters through the years, keeping fans enthralled. Idhika Paul added elegance with a graceful performance, followed by a heartfelt AV tribute and a moving act from Om
Sahani and Sohini Sarkar. Anirban Bhattacharya delivered a powerful solo before sharing a symbolic on-stage exchange that bridged the world of Raghu with the present.
One of the night’s most spectacular moments came when Dev’s leading ladies Sayantika Banerjee, Srabanti, Nussrat Jahan, and Idhika Paul — lit up the stage together, celebrating his legacy of iconic screen pairings.
The energy of the night peaked again with the grand entry of Koel Mallick, Megastar Dev’s first co-star, who joined him for a special performance that sent waves of nostalgia and
joy through the crowd, as the audience celebrated their legacy together.
The emotional scale rose further as Dev’s “superstar directors” Kamaleswar Mukherjee,
Avijit Sen, Rahool Mukherjee, Rino, and Dhrubo Banerjee performed on stage, a heartfelt acknowledgment of the filmmakers who defined his journey.
Adding wit and warmth, Srijit Mukherji engaged Dev in banter with producers Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni, Nispal Singh Rane, and Atanu Roy Chowdhury, blending humour and nostalgia. The night reached an emotional peak with the Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s voice note, congratulating Dev on his two decades,praising his artistry and humility, and blessing Raghu Dakat as the film that will define Puja 2025.
Tributes continued with Mumbai, Friends, and Family AVs, but the most intimate
moment arrived when Dev’s parents and family joined him on stage with his beloved dogs Happy and Lucky.
The finale was a spectacle — Dev cut a 20-year anniversary cake before joining the cast and crew of Raghu Dakat for the grand trailer launch. The screen came alive with the fierce saga of Bengal’s legendary rebel, with Dev in a never-before-seen avatar alongside Anirban Bhattacharya, Roopa Ganguly, Sohini Sarkar, Idhika Paul, and Om Sahani.
The trailer ended to deafening chants of “Raghu! Raghu!” and a standing ovation.
