Genius Foundation, an initiative of Genius Consultant Limited, in association with Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation entered into a MoU in April of 2023 to create Market Linkage and Entrepreneurship Development of the Chhau Mask Artisan in Charida, Purulia. The project is focused on development of market linkage, national and international, for the Artisans to develop entrepreneurs at grass root and instil the idea of working as a collective business. Genius Foundation provided the fund to Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation to implement the programme.
Over the last one year, Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation, has trained almost 200 Chhau Mask Artisans on Market Linkage & Entrepreneurship Development. Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation had arranged several workshops including the workshop on “Modern Packaging Technique and On-Boarding in the Ecommerce Platform, like Flipkart.” A team of expert trainers had impart the whole training. After completion of the training, each Artisans received certificates in the presence of the BDO, Baghmundi.
Today, the yearlong effort of instilling the idea of overall development of the artisans, we are gathered at the Press Club of Kolkata to celebrate the success of the Programme.
The event was attended by Mr. Goutam Sutradhar, the son of Late Nepal Chandra Sutradhar, Padma Sri Award 2024 Winner a renowned Chhau Dancer and Master Craftsman. There were other Chhau Masks Artisans present in the event. Everyone sincerely praised the effort made by Ascensive Edu Skill Foundation with the extensive support from Genius Foundation. They also requested to continue this type of activities more, which surely will develop the livelihood of the artisans.

All the Delegates and Special Guests put emphasis on such innovative programmes should be taken for the betterment of the Artisans and to promote the Local Heritage throughout the world.
