On February 13th 2024, like every year, actor/activist/teacher of method acting- Bobby Chakraborty organised his globally acclaimed, free of cost, anti addiction campaign,on his birthday. This year it happened at B. D. Memorial Junior School, with a strong support from The Director/Principal-Suman Sood, along with The Chief Coordinator-Abanti Chattopadhyay and the Branch Incharges- Shulogna Sengupta, Sheela Mehra and Ranjana Rarhi. This was Bobby’s 416th session globally and his 2nd in this school.
The Director of Photography of this session was soldier Shreyaan Banerjee of class 5,assisted by soldier Ishayu and soldier Archit.
Shreyaan ,who is 10 years old, also made his sparkling debut as an ‘active soldier’ , stealing the show, with his smart, powerful and inspirational presentation, teaming up with Bobby on the podium. We appreciate his sense of social responsibility at such a young age, to ‘give back something good’ to the society.
This popular social awareness program titled ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’, for the youth, is a preventive approach against all sorts of addiction (smoking, alcoholism, smart phones) and harmful social trends(abusive language, online gambling through games, inappropriate behavior on social networking sites to garner ‘views’ etc.)which are destroying the young generation.
This highly motivational session became extremely interactive with almost all the students/soldiers of ‘Bobby Dada’, wanting to put forth their points of view on these social evils, promising to look after their physical and mental health with the HCF(Health-Career-Family) formula. They took an oath to rule their minds against these monsters,with The Mantra- ‘I am the king of my mind’.
The ceremonial title of ‘The 1st Soldier’ went to soldier Krishnasish. The surprise contest at the end had soldiers- Krishnasish, Ishayu and Deepshikha as the winners, who along with active soldier Shreyaan, were given special gifts and Community Service Certificates by their beloved Bobby Dada.
This memorable session on Bobby’s birthday ended with an heartfelt vote of thanks by Suman Sood, who appreciated his selfless initiative to guide the youth towards light.
An elaborate celebration of Bobby’s birthday,was also arranged,where he cut a cake and distributed refreshments to all his little soldiers, whom he considers as ‘a part of his family’.
