Domm
The first look of the much-anticipated Eid-ul-Fitr film Domm has just been
unveiled, offering audiences a gripping glimpse into a story driven by suspense,
danger and the instinct to survive.
Set against a serene, hill-surrounded landscape slowly waking under the soft light of
sunrise, the teaser introduces the solitary presence of a man whose arrival disrupts
the calm. The stillness of the environment gradually gives way to the looming hint of
unseen danger. Fearful glances, the presence of armed men and the tension of a
desperate fight for survival begin to unfold — setting the tone for what promises to
be an intense cinematic experience.
The 54-second first look, released on social media on 8 March, reveals striking
glimpses of Afran Nisho, Chanchal Chowdhury and Puja Cherry. Backed by a
compelling background score and visually charged moments, the teaser has already
sparked curiosity and conversation among viewers online.
Shot extensively in the dramatic terrains of Kazakhstan, the film promises a scale
and visual experience rarely seen before.
Throughout the teaser, Afran Nisho appears in a fatigued, vulnerable and anxious
state, hinting at the emotional and physical toll of the character’s journey. Puja Cherry
reflects uncertainty and fear through her expressions, while Chanchal Chowdhury
appears visibly alarmed and unsettled. Each moment raises a new question — who is
running, who is chasing, and ultimately who will hold the final chance at survival?

The teaser features only one line of dialogue, delivered in the final moment in Afran
Nisho’s voice:
“I am Shahjahan Islam Noor, a Bangladeshi Muslim — remember that.”
The powerful line has already struck a chord with viewers, further intensifying the
intrigue surrounding Domm.
Director Redoan Rony said, “Domm is no longer just our film — it now belongs to
the audience. Meeting their expectations will be our true success. The first look offers
only a glimpse of the film. I had earlier mentioned that I am unaware of any
Bangladeshi film being shot in such rugged locations. The teaser may have given
audiences a hint of that scale. The visuals have come together beautifully through the
dedication of our cast and crew, and we hope everyone joins us on this thrilling
journey.”
Afran Nisho, who plays Shahjahan Islam Noor, described Domm as both a survival
and emotional story. “It takes courage to create a film like this, and our entire team
has put their heart into it. Seeing the audience respond positively to the first look is
truly encouraging. We hope the film resonates with everyone.”
Actress Puja Cherry, who portrays Rani in the film, said the character carries multiple
layers with strength at its core. “The teaser only reveals Rani’s look. The character has
several dimensions, and to understand how deeply she influences Noor, audiences
will have to wait a little longer.”
Domm is produced by SVF Alpha-i and Chorki.
Shahriar Shakil, Managing Director of SVF Alpha-i Entertainment, said the film is
inspired by true events and has been in development for the past two and a half
years. “Our aim has always been to push boundaries and create next-level cinema.
The first look of Domm may already indicate how Bengali cinema is gradually
evolving. The visual scale audiences see here is something we believe is relatively new
for Bangladeshi cinema, and modern audiences are eager to experience films of this
nature.”
With the tagline “Until the Last Breath,” Domm is set to release this Eid-ul-Fitr and is
already shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of the year.
The screenplay of Domm has been written by Syed Ahmed Shawki, Al-Amin Hasan
Nirjhar, Md. Saifullah Riad and Robiul Alam Robi, alongside director Redoan Rony.
