The official poster of Autobi has been unveiled, offering audiences the first glimpse into an intense psychological thriller that promises an unsettling blend of mystery, emotion, and survival. Produced by Siddhi Vinayak Creations, the film is produced by D.K. Bharti, directed by Soumava Banerjee, with music composed by Amit Mitra.
The film features a talented ensemble cast including Madhumita Sarcar as Dimple, Inaaya Chowdhury as Taniya, Shaheb Chatterjee as Bangladeshi journalist Shakib, Rahul Arunoday Banerjee as jungle guide Shamik, and Aryann Bhowmik as Sanjib, Dimple’s husband.
Autobi follows the emotionally charged journey of two sisters, Dimple and Taniya, whose lives are forever altered after witnessing a devastating family tragedy in their childhood. Bound together by trauma, Dimple grows up believing that protecting her younger sister is her life’s greatest responsibility.
The story takes a chilling turn when Dimple receives news that Taniya, now a school teacher, has mysteriously disappeared in Jhargram. The investigation reveals that she was last seen entering Chamsutti, a forbidden forest feared by locals for its eerie reputation. Rumoured to be a “mayabi” forest, Chamsutti is believed to prey upon vulnerable minds, trapping visitors in terrifying hallucinations that ultimately lead them to death.
Determined to bring her sister back, Dimple travels to Jhargram, where she meets Shakib, a Bangladeshi journalist researching the legends surrounding Chamsutti, and Shamik, a reluctant local guide haunted by the forest’s folklore. Ignoring repeated warnings, the trio ventures into the forbidden woods in search of Taniya.
As they move deeper into the dense forest, reality slowly begins to unravel. Shamik warns that once inside Chamsutti, neither logic nor technology can be trusted. When Dimple suddenly finds her essential medication missing, her fragile mental state begins to deteriorate. Whispering voices, shadowy figures, and haunting visions blur the line between truth and illusion, forcing her to question not only the forest’s supernatural power but also the intentions of those around her.
What begins as a desperate rescue mission soon transforms into a terrifying fight for survival, where Dimple must confront the ghosts of her past while struggling to distinguish reality from deception before the forest consumes her forever.
