The Progressive United Engineers Association, an organization of engineers, held its 10th-11th biennial state conference at Nazrul Mancha in Kolkata. The program was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp by the organization’s Convener Pratap Nayak, President Engineer Subrata Ghosh, Vice President Engineer Ananta Nandi, General Secretary Engineer Anirban Ojha, Advisor Engineer Shibu Biswas, and Engineer Debraj Singh Roy.
Several distinguished guests and public representatives, including the Speaker of the State Assembly Biman Banerjee, and MLAs Debasish Kumar and Ashok Dey, were present on the stage at the inaugural ceremony. The organization stated that after successfully completing unit conferences and district conferences in every district of the state since November 2025, this state conference was initiated with a Delegates Conference held on January 30th and 31st at the Swami Vivekananda Hall in Moulali Yuva Kendra, with the participation of district leaders. Following this, the main State Conference is being held at Nazrul Mancha on February 1st.
Approximately 2,500 engineer members from various districts of West Bengal are participating in this historic conference. Several important demands of the engineering cadre will be discussed in detail at the conference.
