“INFUSIO by INIFD Salt Lake motivates and inspires students to create designs. Our elite students showcase illustrations and prototypes that greatly inspire them to grasp the ability to use their innovation and creativity. It brings out the real talent and skills of an individual,” said Mr Arnab Ray, Centre Manager, INIFD Salt Lake.

This year the exhibition was a platform to showcase ‘DESIGN: INSIDE -OUTSIDE’. The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the world, and taught the citizens of the world to think in a new pattern. The design philosophy, thus, has also evolved and new, sustainable thinking patterns have emerged. Keeping this in mind, the exhibition was spread across three sections – civic amenities that looked into the regular needs of the common human beings and the problems they face in their day to day life; transformable furniture which was an endeavour to create multi-utility furniture for small spaces; and home accessories that spanned eras, regions and art forms.

There were two selfie booths designed by the freshers in two different styles – i.e. Indian style and the Egyptian era. The booths were dynamic, changing styles for each photograph, with accompanying accessories prepped and provided by the students.
The exhibition was inaugurated on April 29th at 10am with the welcoming of the renowned artist Shri Shubhaprasanna Bhattacharjee. After the inauguration ceremony, the civic amenities prototype hall was judged by Mr. Debopam Sarkar (journalist), Ms. Soma Kazi (Structural Engineer), and Mr. Jayanta Saha (ACP, Bidhanngar), Ar. Raja Sinha.
At 4pm there was a panel discussion with the topic “THE CHANGING FACE OF THE RURAL CIVIC AMENITIES AND THEIR CORRELATION WITH EVER-INCREASING HUMAN NEEDS. The main speakers for this session were Mr. Ayan Sen (Architect); Ms. Satarupa Majumder (NGO); Mr. Supriyo Mukherjee (Media Professional); Ms. Brinda Sarkar (Journalist); Mr. Sushobhan Bhattacharya (Alternative energy specialist).

On 30th of April, 2022, the program started with a presentation by alumni student Mr. Sayantan Dana followed by a vendor presentation by Skipper and a debate competition by the students, the topic of which was MANUAL DRAWING IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN DIGITAL DRAWING.
