June 25th saw the packed basement auditorium of Sri Sri Academy, Kolkata , brimming with enthusiasm as the 421st anti addiction campaign of actor/activist/teacher of method acting,Bobby Chakraborty,took place there. This was his 5th session in this school. This globally acclaimed, free of cost , preventive awareness program for the youth, titled ‘I AM THE KING OF MY MIND’ has been changing lives for more than a decade and has been creating awareness against all sorts of addiction and harmful social trends among the young generation.
AAC 421 was made memorable by the strong support of the school administration, the socially responsible Principal Gargi Banerjee, the coordinator Rita Dasgupta and ofcourse by the active participation 500+ students of the 11th and 12th grades.
The official photographer of the thought provoking session was soldier Sukhjeet Singh(Class XI),assisted by soldier Vidushi Jain(Class XII) . The all important titles of ‘The 1st soldier’ went to Veer Raghav Jaiswal and ‘The Trendsetter’ went to soldier Rishon ‘Henry’ Nandi. The surprise contest at the end had soldiers Veer Raghav, Rishon and Keshav Rathi as the winners, who were given special prizes, customized HCF (health-career-family) t-shirts and Community Service Certificates by their beloved ‘Bobby Dada’.
The powerfully interactive session concluded with 4 major happenings…firstly there was the customary shout out of the ‘mantra’ of a soldier “I am the king of my mind”, by all present, hands raised in unison with their Captain Bobby Dada… secondly there was an inspirational vote of thanks by the Principal Gargi Madam, who pointed out the extreme necessity of Bobby’s awareness program in today’s grim scenario…thirdly Bobby’s heartwarming dedication of the song ‘Tera mujhse hain pehle ka nata koi’ to his beloved soldiers…and lastly the impromptu birthday celebration of soldier Anand by Bobby.
