Braithwaite & Co. Ltd under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Projects for the year 2022-23 flagged of ROTI VAN and inaugurated newly built Passenger shed located at Hide Road, Kolkata for public use.
On the day, the renovated garden with High Mast Flag and Project office were also inaugurated within Company’s premises.
At around 12:00 PM, Passenger shed / bus stand constructed on both sides of Hide Road, Kolkata near the Head office premises of the Company, along with a drinking water kiosk and plantation of trees therewith for providing environmental sustainability and awareness messages related to road safety mentioned in the board installed at the bus stand, were inaugurated by Sri Yatish Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Mrs Leena V., wife of Sri Salim G. Purushothaman, Director (Production) & Mrs Archita Coari, wife of Sri Kalyan K. Coari, Director (Finance), in presence of Sri D. K. Gayen, Advisor (Projects), Director (Production), Director (Finance), senior officials, vendors as well as employees of the Company.
The ‘Roti Van’ a CSR initiative of BCL under the theme of ‘Health & Nutrition’ declared by Govt of India, was flagged off by the Directors of BCL and Director of the NGO, Shivohum Balaji Seva Trust and other dignitaries. BCL has provided the said vehicle to the NGO under the brand of ‘apni Roti’, for distribution of freshly cooked food among the needy and under privileged people. The ‘Roti Van’ will operate throughout the city, even the remote and rural areas, serving fresh & hygienic hot chapatis along with accomplishments and sweets, to the people.
Thereafter, the renovated garden in the Corporate office complex with a High Mast (100 feet) tricolour flag therein, were also inaugurated. The installation of such High Mast flag in the office premises is a first of its kind, aimed at promoting national integration and instilling pride in the tricolour, among people in general.
Subsequently, the renovated Project office at the Corporate Division was also inaugurated. The newly renovated office space will accommodate seating of more than 40 officials and provide a great ambience as well as a better work environment for the employees.
