Miss Hrishita Sarkar of West Bengal was crowned as “Amayra Miss India 2022” which was organized by Indian Beauty Council in Puri, Odisha on 5 May 2022. She also won “Best in Rampwalk” subtitle in the same pageant. After several rounds of extensive auditions and shortlistings, the Grand Finale featured the top 15 very gifted competitors from various states across India. The Final rounds took place on the 4th and 5th of May, and they were assessed on a multitude of rounds, including Group Discussion, Talent Round, Face the Jury (Question Answer Round), Personality, Intelligence and Wit, etc. The winner received cash money, as well as a crown, a memento, gift hampers, and other prizes from the sponsors.
Christy Judy of the United States, Manju Bhora of the United Kingdom, Shila Pattnaik and Partha Sarathi Mishra of India made up the international jury.
Miss Hrishita Sarkar, the winner of Amayra Miss India 2022, is pursuing B.Tech in Computer Science and Communication Engineering from Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhuwaneshwar, as well as B.Sc. in Data Science and Programming from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
She is also an international research scholar who will go to British Columbia, Canada in Summer 2022 to represent India in research. Only a handful of students from all over the world are chosen for such an opportunity. It is funded by MITACS, a non-profit research organization in Canada that receives government funding. For this prestigious programme, the Indian government also sponsors its Indian representatives.
Hrishita says, “I want to break stereotypes. I want to do things that people told me that I never could. I want to show the world that even short girls can stand tall in pageants. I want people to know that inner beauty is the only thing that matters and “Education” is the only key that can help you unlock that beauty.”
