Kolkata, December 14th, 2023 — ISNCON 2023, One of the largest medical conferences in the country, stepped into its 53rd edition with a four-day conclave at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata. This landmark conference, bringing together experts, researchers, and practitioners from across the globe, was inaugurated by esteemed Chief Guest Padma Shri Dr. Sanghamitra Bandopadhyay, Director of Indian Statistical Institute along with revered Guests of Honor, Dr. Siddharth Niyogi, DHS, Govt of West Bengal, Special Guest, Shri Baichung Bhutia, Former Captain of Indian Football Team along with Dr. Sanjeev Gulati, President ISN, Dr. H.S. The annual conference, being held from December 14-17, 2023, brings together over 2000 Nephrologists, Post-Graduates, and Medical Practitioners from across India and around the globe.
This year’s ISNCON conference has been one of the largest medical gatherings in the country, with the participation of academic stalwarts from 10 different countries. The event features six unprecedented hands-on workshops, covering a broad spectrum of topics from fundamental concepts like genetics and histopathology to cutting-edge developments in intervention and critical care nephrology. There is also a workshop on Research Methodology & Scientific Writing, coordinated by Prof. N Gopalakrishnan and Dr. Vivek Kumar, which will encourage students and young Nephrologists to do indigenous research.
The guest faculty comprises of twelve international experts, including Prof Nangaku, the President of the International Society of Nephrology, Prof Michelle Josephson, The President of the American Society of Nephrology, Prof Graham Lipkin, the Ex-President of the UK Renal Association, and Dr Amit Garg, Ex-President of the Canadian Society of Nephrology, Dr. Dorry Segev, USA, Dr.George Bakris, USA, Dr.Ajay Sharma,Canada, Dr.Camille Kotton, USA and Dr.Sandip Mitra, from UK.
The conference, held at the ITC Royal Bengal in Kolkata, provides a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration in the field of Nephrology. Attendees are earning 19 hours of Medical Council credit points, a rare achievement for such an event.
ISNCON 2023 has been addressing the challenges faced by kidney patients globally, particularly during natural disasters and pandemics.
