Debjani Mitra is a passionate Bengali art lover in addition to being an entrepreneur. With a stint of fourteen years living abroad, Bengal and its culture always pulled her back to her city frequently.
Born in a family infused with a passion for literature and Bengali poetry, her father Mr.Partha Pratim Mitra – an Engineer by profession and a reciter by passion has always been her inspiration. From a very young age, Debjani was a reciter, performing across India. She performed since the age of four in Nandan, Rabindra Sadan and similar platforms.
Debjani’s passion for poetry made inroads in creating her own poems in the past and they were quickly picked up by Asha Audio for releasing her album titled “Ananya”. The album contains Debjani’s poems recited by Soumitra Chattopadhhyay and Bratati Bandhopadhyay. It was featured in mainstream media and was one of the best-selling poetry albums of that time.
Debjani’s own Youtube Channel – “Unplugged Debjani Mitra” which is recently launched is gaining popularity containing recent renditions of her poems. One of her videos, which is unique, features talented actor Kaushik Sen enacting in the backdrop of Debjani’s recitation of her poem – “Eta Tomar Jonyo”. This is for the first time, Sen is getting featured in a poem as an actor and he is thrilled to be part of this concept video. Shot by Kaustav Das, the video got released today 13th February 2022 on the eve of Valentine’s day. The poem is about a lover’s unsaid words that she was unable to express before.
