Praxis Business School, a premier institution focused on building Digital Leaders of the future, had the honour of hosting Shri. Jadav ‘Molai’ Payeng, Padma Shri recipient and celebrated global environment activist, at their campus in Kolkata on Friday, April 01, 2022. Shri Payeng, besides delivering a Tedx Talk at Auditorium two of the campus, also led the students in a plantation drive, where he planted five Debdaru (Monoon longifolium) saplings. He was full of praise for the biodiversity at the Praxis campus.
This was only his second plantation in West Bengal- the first one being at the great poet Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s abode at Santiniketan.
Among Shri Payeng’s other engagements was an energetic Q&A session where he enthralled students. “Environmental consciousness is a globally proven best practice for businesses,” he said, responding to a question on the possible conflicts arising out of business imperatives and environmental concerns.
He further urged students to be “environment leaders of tomorrow” and that would help them fulfil their career dreams.
Thrilled at the way the day had panned out, Mr. Charanpreet Singh, Founder Director, Praxis Business School Foundation said, “Our students are fortunate to have interacted with a visionary like Shri Payeng, as they step into their careers. His passion for the environment and the zeal with which he pursues his beliefs, is a lesson for the youth of India. This can only be imparted through personal association.”
He added, “I am certain that our students will greatly benefit from this experience and it will help them become responsible business leaders. I, on behalf of Praxis Business School, express my heartfelt gratitude to Shri Jadav Payeng for addressing our students.”
Praxis Business School has since its inception back in 2007, always aligned with causes which promote equal opportunity, inclusivity and responsible business practices, along with providing future leaders of the Digital Economy with critical skills required to succeed in it.

A one-time grant to Ms. Malik’s Wheeling Happiness Foundation was also announced to promote women with special abilities to carve out a career in Tech. Praxis also runs a scholarship titled Women in Tech (WiT) to attract more women into careers in Technology.
