Kolkata, 15th October, 2022: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) through its Committee for Members in Industry & Business (CMI&B) jointly with South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) in association with West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation conducted CFOs Meet on the theme S^3: Sustainability, Scalability and Strategy on 14th October, 2022 at ITC Royal Bengal, Kolkata in which CFOs from the various Industries of West Bengal gathered and discussed on Sustainability, Scalability and Strategy.
Chief Guest Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises and Public Enterprises & Industrial Reconstruction and Women, Child Development & Social Welfare of the Government of West Bengal, Dr. Sashi Panja inaugurated the Meet in the presence of Top Industry Leaders!

CA. (Dr.) Debashis Mitra, President, ICAI, in his presidential speech happily mentioned that Chartered Accountants are moving from the fields of auditing and accounting to “unchartered areas’’ like MSME etc. He also told the gathering that CAs – the brand ambassadors of the profession – are being looked as the regulators for the Social Audit. He concluded saying that the “essence and aroma of excellence, integrity and innovation’’ are being felt in the profession of Chartered Accountancy. He committed emotively that ICAI would take all best possible steps to keep the national flag high.
In her special address to the gathering of the “Brand Ambassadors of the ICAI”, Dr. Sashi Panja, the Hon’ble Minister, described the fraternity of CAs as the Big Interface to carry forward the Vision of West Bengal.” Moving further, she added that a growing misconception being built up about Bengal needs to be killed and investment in business should not be with political association. Talking about the theme of this CFO Meet she said that sustenance needs to scale up and it requires strategy. She wrapped up requesting inputs and suggestions from the fraternity and thanked for inviting her in this special programme. Referring to the “wonderfully spoken” deliberation by CA. (Dr.) DebashisMitra, President, ICAI, she expressed her happiness on the MSME Yatra taken up by the Institute.
CA. Aniket S. Talati, Vice President, ICAI in his short and dynamic deliberation, mentioned that CFOs are doing their best in bringing business in the state of West Bengal.
CA. Nihar N. Jambusaria, Immediate Past President, ICAI explained to the gathering the significance of organising this CFO Meet against the background of current global scenario and suggested that all Chartered Accountants to support Government in all possible ways.
Other dignitaries gracing the dais also emphasised on the significance and relevance of organising this CFO Meet and greeted the entire team for offering such a grand congregation of professional intelligentsia.

Moreover, in the said CFO Meet, a comprehensive study report on the industries in West Bengal was discussed which has been prepared jointly by ICAI and St Xavier’s College. The said report would be sent to individual registered email id of the registered delegates as for sustainability hard copy was not printed.
The CFO meet witnessed an interactive and enthusiastic participation from a slew of Chief Financial Officers, Directors Finance, Chief Executive Officers from a plethora of corporate companies and public sector units.
