On February 28th, the packed auditorium of Shri Shikshayatan School witnessed magic happen, during the 417th anti addiction campaign session of actor/activist/teacher of method acting Bobby Chakraborty. This was his 3rd session in this school.
The socially responsible Principal Sangeeta Tandon,has been a strong supporter of this global,free of cost awareness program of Bobby,against addiction and harmful social trends among the youth,for more than a decade. This year she associated with Bobby again,to organize this much acclaimed ,popular,interactive and thought provoking session for the classes 7 and 8, as a part of the ongoing ‘bagless days’ observed by the school.

The relevant issues destroying the physical and mental health of the youth and the ways to be safe from those,were put forth by Bobby,ranging from smoking, alcoholism, vaping,smart phone addiction, abusive language,obscenity online to gain viewership etc. Relatable true incidents were quoted by Bobby from the recent past, where lives were lost and families were destroyed, under the clutches of addiction, including his own.
The awakening among the soldiers of Bobby was noteworthy,as the session became exceedingly interactive with spontaneous participation from them.
The all important designation of ‘the 1st soldier’ went to Aratrika and ‘the trendsetter’ went to Srinika.
The fun contest at the end had Aratrika, Aparajita and Gayatri as the winners, who along with Siona,were given special prizes, HCF t-shirts and community service certificates by their beloved Bobby Dada.
The session ended with everyone in the auditorium shouting out the soldier’s mantra ‘I am the king of my mind’, with their hands raised.
The Principal and every respected teacher were filled with appreciation towards Bobby’s selfless efforts for the society and wished him good luck, before he drove off from the beautiful campus.
