Suparna Kumar is one of them whose selfless service saves lives, enlightens the society. Actually, Suparna is talented and philanthropic. Apart from handing out food and clothes to the poor people, Suparna also feeds and cares for the street dogs out of the urge of her heart.
Actually Suparna Kumar does social service silently, out of the urge of her heart and without expecting any reward or recognition. Perhaps it is her anti-publicity attitude that has repeatedly brought her to the stage of awards and recognitions and limelight.
However, once again Suparna Kumar was spotted at the awards and recognition stage. Recently an award ceremony titled ‘Uran Manav Sammanana’ was organized at the Rotary Sadan, Kolkata.
‘Uran Pathshala’ officially honors those people who are selflessly doing social service.
Along with ‘PadmaShree’ awardee Dukhu Majhi (‘Gach Dadu’), ‘PadmaShree’ awardee teacher Sujit Chattopadhyay (teacher of ‘Sadai Fakir Pathshala’), Dr. Sukumar Chanda (‘Bishu Daktar’), Amal Naik (‘Lord of Sundarban’) and others, the ‘Uran Manav Sammanana’ award was given to singer, actress and philanthropist Suparna Kumar. The ‘Uran Manav Sammanana’ award is given by ‘Uran Pathshala’.
After receiving the award, Suparna Kumar said, ‘Though I work without expecting an award or recognition, I am grateful to those who recognize our work.” Because, by giving such formal recognition, they inspire many more people to do social work.’
Suparna Kumar is actually a singer and actress. Sung songs with singers like Kumar Shanu, Kunal Ganjawala etc. Suparna Kumar has won the best actress award at various international film festivals for her performance in the short films ‘Unlucky Shirt’ and ‘Be Careful’, under the direction of Suranjan Dey.
Several other short films have been enriched with Suparna’s acting. These films titled ‘Office Wife’, ‘Life By Lane’ and ‘Budhijivi’ were also directed by Suranjan Dey.
Apart from singing and acting, Suparna has also participated in various ramp shows and advertisements as a model. Suparna Kumar was also seen as the cover model of various national magazines.
Apart from West Bengal, Suparna’s work area is Mumbai and South India. Suparna Kumar said, she spends most of her earned money in social service.
