Kolkata is set to witness a vibrant celebration of Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage with Marudhar Mela, started from 28 December, organised by Marwari Sanskrit Manch. Headed by Vikash Poddar, the mela brings together the colours, sounds, and traditions of Rajasthan under one roof, offering an immersive experience through art, culture, food, and folk performances.
The evening was curated cultural programme by Kkhubii, a creative and cultural platform incubated by IIM Bangalore and NSRCEL Mumbai. Led by Shrestha Ganguly, Kkhubii is known for its contemporary yet deeply rooted approach to cultural storytelling and community engagement. Through its thoughtfully designed programming, Kkhubii continues to bridge heritage with modern expression, creating meaningful cultural experiences for a diverse audience.
The cultural showcase featured a special performance by renowned dancer Avirup Sengupta and his troup. Their act promises to capture the spirit, rhythm, and storytelling essence of Rajasthan’s folk traditions, leaving the audience mesmerised.
Envisioned as a true cultural confluence, Marudhar Mela celebrates the timeless beauty of Rajasthani traditions. From authentic Rajasthani cuisine and traditional art forms to folk expressions and performances, the mela offers a wholesome and immersive experience for visitors of all ages. With an expected footfall of 5,000 to 7,000 attendees, the event stands out as one of the most anticipated cultural gatherings of the season in the city.
