Foundation helps Yaas victims

The journey of Swapanasathi Foundation startet in the year 2017 with the joint efforts of a group of enterprising educated Bengali youth. They are by the side of helpless people without any kind of donation or government support. Teacher Sourav along with some educated government officials started working in the name of this foundation to help someone’s food, someone’s clothes, someone’s accommodation or someone’s medicine, especially the meritorious poor students.

Last year, they stood by the side of many helpless families in Ampan and garnered praise and , signed up as an NGO with an office on the Park Street. There are teachers like Sourav here, from administrative officers to journalists and NRIs . Swapanasathi Foundation wants to work for the poor and helpless not only in Bengal but all over India. In continuation, cash, clothing and dry food were provided to several families affected by the May 29 cyclone in Ashoknagar.

On this day, about 500 families in Hingalganj near Basirhat were provided with rice, pulses, oil, onions and other necessities of life. DSP Rathin Biswas along with Sourav Das, Basharul Munna, Arnab, Tanmoy, Debajyotii of Swapanasathi Foundation were present on the occasion. Next week, food will be served on Mausuni Island, which was devastated by the floods, the agency said.

 Basharul Manna, one of the prominent members of the foundation said, “We are extremely happy to be able to help the needy families of Hingalganj who faced the wrath of the cyclone. We are going to Mousuni island next as the island is totally devastated by the cyclone.”
