Anando Sangbad Live: With the lockdown extended, a lot of couples had to postpone their wedding. But Animesh Debnath from Dehradun and Nilu Roy from Bhopal got married on 8th May via video call. During the lockdown period, Shaadi.com introduced Weddings from Home, an initiative to help couples across all communities, cultures and religions to get married. The entire wedding ceremony and celebrations are conducted from the comfort of their homes over a video call. For Animesh and Nilu, the wedding is close to a traditional Bengali ceremony with Dodhi Mongol and Gaye Holud (haldi) ceremonies before the wedding followed by Dhol, singing and sangeet performances by family, albeit virtually. The bride even had make-up artists who helped her with a bridal look via video call. Wedding invites were sent with video call links and even a special backdrop was designed to create the right atmosphere and setting. The wedding happened in their respective homes, and a Panditji from Raipur officiated all the ceremonies via a video call. Around 100 family & friends joined the ceremony and showered their blessings. Commenting on this, Adhish Zaveri, Director – Marketing, Shaadi.com said, “This initiative finds its roots in our promise of togetherness, and in times of social distancing this is our way of delivering on the promise. For people around the world and more so in India, their wedding date is of immense importance. But with the pandemic, many couples have been forced to postpone their wedding indefinitely. And in these times, we at Shaadi.com have innovated a whole new way to help couples get married, without even stepping out of their homes. With Weddings From Home couples can get married on that exact date regardless of the lockdown, just that it’ll be done virtually”.Speaking about the wedding the bride & groom Nilu & Animesh said “We can’t believe this actually happened. We heard about Shaadi.com’s weddings from home and after speaking to them we instantly decided to do an online wedding. This day 8th May had a very special place in our hearts “as its Rabindra Tagore Jayanti” and we wanted to get married on this day itself and we are so glad we did. The whole wedding was seamlessly organized, and all our family and friends joined in to celebrate with us. We are overjoyed and can’t wait to begin our lives together.” Post Views: 702 Share this:TwitterFacebookTelegramWhatsAppLike this:Like Loading...
