Sunday 18th September 2022:The Annual Function of Friends of Tribals Society & Shreehari Satsanga Samity, Kolkata Chapter was organized at Kala Mandir. The occasion was graced by eminent author Sri Chetan Bhagat as the Keynote Speaker and Sri N.G. Khaitan (Senior Partner-Khaitan & Company) as the Chief Guest. They appreciated the work that the organization is doing to uplift the rural community and urged the audience with their motivating speech to support the ekal movement. Shri Shyam Gupta, one of the most influential person behind the Ekal Abhiyan Movement was also present as special guest. Speech of Shri Ramesh Saraogi -National President of Friends of Tribals Society was also inspiring and apprised the audience about Ekal .The program was titled “Bharat Ke Rang, Ekal Ke Sang”. The Kathakars of Ekal Shreehari gave impressive performance on the program theme. These Kathakars are exceptionally talented and have won the hearts of millions not only in India but in 60 cities of USA from past 5 years. Students of M.C.Kejriwal Vidyapeeth also gave a heartwarming performance on Ekal Geet.
The auditorium was filled to the capacity, the donors and members of the organization showed up with their family and friends. The program was live streamed over facebook and youtube for the worldwide viewers. The virtuous work that the organization is doing was showcased with the video clip of their work. The program was much appreciated and was a great success under the leadership of Shri Pradeep Rawalwasia -President Shreehari Satsanga Samity (Kolkata Chapter), Kishan Kumar Kejriwal -President Friends of Tribals Society(Kolkata Chapter) ,Subhash Murarka -Secretary Shreehari Satsanga Samity (Kolkata Chapter) and Shri Niraj Harodia -Secretary Friends of Tribals Society (Kolkata Chapter). The program was also attended by Shri Ramesh Kumar Maheshwari National Working President- Friends of Tribals Society, Shri Rakesh Jhunjhunwala -National Vice President Friends of Tribals Society, Shri Gaurav Bagla Chairman -Ekal Yuva, Vikas Poddar -Secretary -Ekal Yuva . The Annual Function was integral in spreading awareness about the noble work it is doing for the rural community and connecting more and more Kolkatians to the cause and specially the youths.
Friends of Tribals Society & Shreehari Satsanga Samity are on the mission of uplifting the rural community and making them self-reliant from last 33 years. FTS’s unique model of one-teacher-school or Ekal Vidyalaya was established with the core idea of taking education at the doorstep of every child residing in remotest villages. Presently more than 75000 ekal vidyalaya are benefiting the lives of more than 20 lakh village children by imparting non-formal education to them. SHSS organises Satsangs in the villages to instill appreciation of Indian culture among the villagers and to shun malpractices like addiction to alcoholism. More than 65000 Sankar Kendra’s located across the country are running these Satsang’s weekly and encouraging the villagers to imbibe sanskars in their life. 63 Shreehari Mandir Rath move from village to village, screening mythological programs to awaken spiritual consciousness among the villagers.
