The Association of Building Interior Designers (ABID) inaugurated ABID Interiors 2026 at Milan Mela Prangan, Kolkata, marking 35 years of excellence and leadership in interior design. The exhibition commenced on January 9, 2026, and will continue till January 12, 2026, reaffirming ABID’s position as one of India’s oldest and most respected interior design fraternity–driven exhibitions.
Over the past three decades, ABID has emerged as a leading hub of experience centres in Kolkata, consistently championing growth, innovation, and evolution within the design ecosystem. As the market witnessed a significant surge driven by collaboration, technological advancement, and an increasing demand for excellence, ABID not only adapted to this transformation but played a pivotal role in shaping it. The platform has continuously fostered a dynamic environment where design, business, and expertise converge.
For the last 35 years, ABID Interiors has played the role of an aggregator and facilitator, creating a unique platform where Kolkata’s finest interior designers showcase their creativity, while leading product manufacturers and brands present their latest designs and innovations. The exhibition has firmly established itself as the most prominent design exhibition in Eastern India.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries including actress Priyanka Sarkar, entrepreneur and author Imran Zaki, The Consul General of France In Kolkata Mr. Thierry Morel, Marc Boudin Director ALLIANCE FRANCAISE DU BENGALE along with Raja Sinha, President, ABID; Mukul Bothra, Vice President, ABID; Kamlesh Agarwal, IPP, ABID; Abhijit Saha, Secretary, ABID; Anjan Gupta, Joint Secretary, ABID; Sanjeev Jalan, Treasurer, ABID, and many other eminent dignitaries and ABID members.
The exhibition is being successfully coordinated by the Exhibition Co-Ordinators — Mr. Samiran Banik, Mr. Sanjay Kachha, and Mr. Pravir Agarwal — whose dedication and commitment have been instrumental in the seamless planning and execution of ABID Interiors 2026.
A special highlight of ABID Interiors 2026 is “ABID Tributes: Bengal Masters”, an evocative initiative honouring the legacy of legendary architect Dulal Mukherjee and eminent artist Narendra Chandra De Sarkar for their enduring contributions to the evolution of art, architecture, and design thought. Conceived as a jugalbandi of art and architecture, the tribute celebrates originality, craftsmanship, and contextual wisdom as the cornerstone of future design. The concept and idea have been envisioned by Anjan Gupta, Joint Secretary, ABID, and the initiative has been curated by Abhijit Saha, Secretary, ABID.
The exhibition features over 60 exhibitors showcasing high-end interior products, materials, and design solutions from leading brands. The event has drawn an overwhelming response from industry professionals, architects, designers, and consumers, with an expected footfall of over 70,000 visitors during its run.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Sinha, President, ABID, said, “ABID Interiors has always been more than an exhibition—it has been a celebration of design, collaboration, and progress. Over the last 35 years, we have built a powerful platform that connects designers, manufacturers, and stakeholders under one roof. ABID Interiors 2026 reflects our commitment to nurturing creativity, encouraging innovation, and strengthening the design ecosystem of Eastern India.”
